Get Smart Trivia Night

Gallagher Bluedorn Performing Arts Center
At
the Gallagher Bluedorn we twice presented a trivia night as a fund raiser to
support our children's series of shows.
The goal of the event was to not just host a trivia night but to take
full advantage of our facility to create an experience unlike any other trivia
event. This involved video content
projection mapped across multiple surfaces, custom built staging, and dramatic
lighting and sound effects.
On
this production I acted as the scenic and projections designer. The main element of the show is an arch way
at center stage. The archway is
constructed of steel box tube, the facing is custom printed foam core
panels. The entire arch breaks down
easily for storage until the following year.
Additionally
I developed software that operated the score board. Judges on stage would enter scores into their
computers which would be transmitted to a central computer in the control room. It would then tabulate scores and generate
the leaderboard which was fed into the projections media server. The scoreboard software could be controlled
by OSC allowing the reveal of new scores to be coordinated with sound and
lighting effects.
Quiz Master Introduction
The Quiz Master was pre-recorded and would make appearances at the start of each round to explain the rules.
